All the Reasons Why You Might NOT Want to Buy the “Art Business Plan for Growth” Course.

Through the years of coaching artists and creatives on their business growth and profit, I’ve noticed a few things…

Sometimes information, courses, experiences can be a tool to elevate you and your business.

Like handing someone navigating through blackberry bushes some gloves and a machete.

But sometimes, hopeful people can turn that same information into a weapon to use against themselves.

They can use it to compare themselves to others- and hide or hold back their own growth.

They can get DISCOURAGED because they see exactly how big the gap is from where they are now and it seems so far.

They can use it as proof of how the path they had been on was wasted time- and feel shame.

They can feel like the way they have been doing it, their art, or the level of selling that makes them happy and comfortable is wrong.

Since this is an online course, and direct feedback from me is limited… I want to make sure that you use this course (should it be right for you) as the tool for good that it is.

Beautiful Clarity- that’s what this course offers.

This is a training and tool to align your desires & expectations with your desired level of effort & transformation.

It allows you to dream up the life and business you want to have and test out ways to align the work you do, with what is ENOUGH money. (at least enough.)

There is literally a calculator that helps you balance your needs, your business needs, ways you’d like to grow, and what your art costs- so you can get a clear view of what you need to make and sell to meet your goals.

Plain ole boring numbers.

But here’s the tricky part.

Dreams are SO much safer when they are vague.

They are protected (from your self-criticism) when they are not claimed.

Dreams can stay a beautiful, glowing idea that brings you relief and escape when you think about them.

Trying for them will be much uglier.

Messy.

Annoying.

So frustrating.

Trying for them will show you all the ways you are lacking- and that will be really hard to deal with at times.

You might fall short.

Things might take longer. There will be detours and regular life road blocks.

and still in the future, you will look back and see how much new knowledge and skill you have earned to build the life you want.

You will be proud. Amazed even.

You will have new mastery in ways you can’t even imagine…. hmmm mystery mastery.

Time well spent.

So, my suggestions are:

  1. Do not take this course unless you are willing to open the windows to the wild thoughts and feelings that will arise when your body claims a dream.

  2. Do not take this course if making your life MORE MESSY is not something you want to do in this season of your life.

  3. Do not take this course unless you are willing to be kind to yourself as you go about building your life in a new way.

Okay? Okay.

Here’s a few more tips:

  • The math is just math. Not a way to measure your success.

  • Your ENOUGH may be lower or much higher than what is socially acceptable. It’s all good if it’s right for you.

  • You most likely have not met your best clients yet.

  • You do not actually need to make money from your art if you don’t want to. You can support it with other work. It does not make you less of an artist.

  • You can sell your art even if other artists don’t think your art is ART.

  • Your highest paying project/ commission/ gig/ whatever is not something you can even define right now- it will be unexpected.

  • Odds are 100% you will have some emergencies and crappy situations- so build in a buffer to expect those unexpected moments.

Okay? Okay.
